15 Credit Repair Resources to Bookmark
Here is a list of 15 resources (in order) that I found extremely helpful during my credit repair journey. Take a moment to check them out and do yourself a favor by keeping this page handy!
1. MyFico
MyFico.com is the ONLY place you can get all three of your real Fico scores. It’s rather expensive but using the coupon “CPPSAVINGS” will save you 20%.
2. Credit Karma
Credit Karma is a free service that allows you to pull your Tranunions credit score once a day. No strings attached, and there are also a lot of neat toys to graph your progress and compare your score with others.
3. Credit Boards
The Credit Boards host the largest credit-related forums on the net. This is the place to go for advice/information on any conceivable credit question.
4. Credit.com
Credit.com is the place to go for a great list of credit cards for people with bad or no credit. I have been recommending their cards for years.
5. True Credit
True Credit is one of the cheapest ways to get all three of your credit reports on a daily basis. I pay somewhere around $15 a month for this service.
6. AnnualCreditReport.com
AnnualCreditReport.com is the only legit place to receive your free yearly credit report. Read my article related to getting ripped off when checking your credit report.
7. FTC – Fair Credit Reporting Act
It’s extremely important that you know your rights when dealing with creditors and particularly shady collection agencies that will do/say anything to get your money.
8. Bo Major’s Credit Advice
This guy’s advice is straight forward and down to earth. This is one of the first sites I came across when repairing my credit and his advice still stands out.
9. Planet Feedback
Planet Feedback is a way to connect executives from almost any company you can think of. This is a great place to find contact addresses when sending out goodwill letters.
10. 5 Credit-fix Scams to Avoid
This is a great article over at MSN Money that offers a good overview of credit-fix scams to avoid.
11. Credit Pulls Database
This is an awesome tool over at the Credit Boards (requires a free account signup) that allows you to enter almost any credit card and instantly see what credit score was required by other users get be approved. This can save you the time and hard inquiry required to see if you will get approved for a particular credit card.
12. Bank Rate Credit Calculators
These calculators can be highly personalized and give really accurate calculations. Bookmark this!
13. Tip’d
Tip’d is a personal finiance oriented social network similar to Digg.
14. Experian Credit Dispute
Your credit repair journey will more than likely require disputing inaccurate information on your credit report. Here is where to go to dispute an error on your Experian credit report.
